I’m delighted to say that nominations are now open for the Weald of Kent Awards 2026!

The Weald of Kent Awards recognises the very best of our wonderful corner of Kent across five categories:

Local Hero of the Year

Celebrating an individual, group, or community organisation — that has gone above and beyond for the Weald of Kent

Independent Shop of the Year

Honouring a locally owned shop that represents the very best of the Weald

Local Business of the Year

Recognising a business in the Weald of Kent that has shown exceptional service or real local impact

Farmer, Grower or Producer of the Year

Celebrating those who grow, rear, or produce the food and drink that showcase the very best of our land and larder

Pub, Café or Restaurant of the Year

Recognising the local venue that has become a true heart of its community, whether through great food, a warm welcome, or just going the extra mile

Last year I received over 100 nominations for brilliant local heroes and businesses, and over 1,000 of you went on to cast your vote!

Anyone who lives in the Weald of Kent can nominate a local person or business once in each category. Nominations will close on 13th July at 5pm.
